Look At Me

It’s no secret that I love a good song. I look to songs for inspiration and motivation. Whether it is a power-packed playlist that gets me amped up for a long run or a relaxing one that soothes away the stresses of the day, music profoundly impacts me.

Every once in awhile I come across a song that really speaks to what I feel in my heart. Recently I had one of these encounters with a song by country music superstar, Carrie Underwood, called Look At Me.

Look At Me is one of those songs that plucks at my heart strings and brings out my totally girly, mushy, hopeless romantic side. What I love about it is how it captures the essence of love and how something as simple as a look can steal a girl’s heart. Every time I hear this song, I think of my husband, and how from day one to the present, he sweeps me off my feet. There is nothing like that look in my husband’s eyes that conveys that I am the only girl in the world for him, and he loves me beyond belief.

If you are looking for a sweet song that embodies how your husband or significant other makes you feel, this just might be your lucky day. A little hint: Greet your man at the end of his day at the door with a huge smile, hug, and kiss. Tell him how much you love him, and how much you appreciate how he loves you. Then proceed to turn on this song and ask for a slow dance right then and there in your living room.

You can pick this song up here. In the meantime, take a look at the lyrics:

I would bet my life like I bet my heart
That you were the one, baby
I’ve never been so sure of anything before
You’re driving my heart crazy

I can’t hold out
I can’t hold back now
Like i’ve done before

Darling look at me
I’ve fallen like a fool for you
Darling can’t you see
I’d do anything you want me to

I tell myself I’m in too deep
Then I fall a little farther
Every time you look at me

How do you do that, babe?
Make me feel like I’m the only girl alive for you

I don’t know what it is that makes me fall like this
First time in your arms I knew

The way you held me
I knew that this could be
What I’ve been waiting to find

Darling look at me
I’ve fallen like a fool for you
Darling can’t you see
I’d do anything you want me to

I tell myself I’m gettin in too deep
Then I fall a little farther
Every time you look at me
Every time you look at me
