Noteworthy: Cry Out to Jesus

By Ashley McIlwain
Ever felt hopeless? Lost? Scared? Confused? I think all of us can answer, “Yes!” to each of these questions at some point and time in our life. Whether it’s at work, at home, a battle within, or interpersonal issues, we’ve all faced difficult and trying times.
Sometimes the circumstances we find surrounding us are completely out of our control. We may have tried all that we physically can, but the situation is still unresolved, taxing, and confusing as ever. During those moments in life, there is only one thing we can do – cry out to Jesus.
No matter what we are facing – losing our job, our marriage falling apart, estranged relationships – we always have hope. God is in the business of caring (1 Peter 5:7). Difficult times aren’t always fun, but they are definitely an opportunity to grow our faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as well as develop as a person. There are always lessons to be learned and ways to be used if we just wait on Him.
When all else fails. When you feel like something is completely out of your control. When you are scared and hopeless. Call on the name of the Lord, and you will be saved (Romans 10:13). It may not seem to come immediately or in the form you are expecting, but He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). He never fails!
There’s a song that captures the essence of this hope and dependence on Jesus. It’s called Cry Out to Jesus by Third Day. This song is so perfect for when you are facing difficulties, challenges, and hopelessness in life. The words are poignant. The message is powerful. It’s a must-have song.
Take a listen for yourself and be blessed, encouraged, and filled with hope …

Ashley, you and your writing are such an encouragement. The world is moving into a “dark” time, as the ruler of darkness (satan) unleashes his wrath upon the earth’s inhabitants (God’s creation) in his last efforts to drag as many souls to hell as he can. Satan knows his time is short and he is utilizing any person, who is willing to allow his evil demons to control him or her to bring torment or even death to others and especially those who claim the name of Christ. Christ defeated satan at the cross. Thank you for the powerful reminder that all we need do is call upon the name of Jesus in faith when we feel evil closing in around us.

Ashley, every time I read your articles I get choked up. Maybe its because they hit home and are so easy to identify with, maybe its because they are so anointed and poignant. Either way they minister to my heart in a deep way. I need and love your ministry and can’t wait to apply your insight and the anointing God has given to you to my new marriage. Thank you thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Erin, I cannot begin to tell you how touched I was by your comment! You truly encouraged and blessed me with your kind words! I have put my whole heart and soul into Foundation Restoration with the hopes that even just one life, one marriage, one relationship would be touched, so to hear you say that blesses my soul and gives me such joy. Thank you so much for taking the time to bless me!
Anonymous, I love that song too! It’s a great song for weathering life’s storms. Thanks for the comment!
Dad, thank you so much for your kind comment! You are absolutely right; we are facing some seriously dark and difficult time in our world. That’s why we all need to stand up and do our part to pursue the calling placed on our lives by God. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4). Thanks so much for sharing your heart with us!
