Do you have any fun summer plans?

I’ll get us started …

This summer Steve and I will mostly likely be staying local. Having just bought our first home, our time, energy, and money are all being poured into getting it settled and just the way we want it. Having waited nearly six years for our first home, we’re quite content with that being our summer plans. We do have a couple of small trips planned that aren’t far from home, and we have family members coming in to stay with us too, which will be so much fun! Honestly, I think it’s going to be the perfect summer for us!

Okay, it’s your turn!

Congratulations to our April Talking Tuesday winner … Kristen!!! We love hearing from you all, so keep joining us for your chance to win this month’s giveaway!

What are you most looking forward to in 2014?

I’ll get us started …

First of all, Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful 2013, and may 2014 be filled with much love, laughter, and blessings for you!

Now, let’s see. What am I most looking forward to in 2014? Well, to be honest, our year is already off and running full speed ahead, and I have a feeling it’s not going to slow down anytime soon. There’s a lot that we are planning for, praying over, and anticipating for this New Year. Perhaps the biggest for me is getting licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist here in North Carolina. Much like an attorney, each state has their own requirements to get licensed as a marriage and family therapist in their state, so I am working on that process. It’s a bit overwhelming to be honest, but I’m excited to start seeing clients again because I love working directly with couples and individuals! Perhaps the other thing is potentially getting a home. Steve and I have been married for nearly 5 ½ years, and we have patiently waited to buy a home until our circumstances, finances, and location all came together. Finally it seems we are at that point, so we are praying for God’s guidance in getting the right home for us to settle into and call our own!

Okay, it’s your turn!

What are your plans for celebrating Thanksgiving this year? What are you looking forward to the most?

I’ll get us started …

Every Christmas and Thanksgiving my husband, Steve, and I alternate between our two families. Having his parents in the bay area of California and mine in Pennsylvania, it was the only fair formula we could come up with. Based on that rotation, we will be spending Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania with my family this year, and I couldn’t be more excited! There really is no place like home, and I can’t wait to enjoy my mom’s traditional Thanksgiving feast while spending time with the family! What I’m looking forward to the most though is being with my entire family! As we get older, it gets more and more difficult for my three sisters and me to all wind up in the same place (we all live in different states), but this year that’s exactly what will be happening. All 9 of us will be bunking up in my parents’ home tucked up in the scenic mountains of Central Pennsylvania catching up, laughing, and just enjoying our time together. My heart is so full just thinking about it 🙂

Okay, it’s your turn!

What Easter traditions exist in your home?

I’ll get us started …

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. As a Christian, this is the time to celebrate the victory we have in Jesus. Easter is the heart of what we believe and why we believe it. One of the things I did with my family growing up and now with my husband to celebrate is go to Easter church services. There’s something about being in church remembering the sacrifice and victory of our Savior that moves me very deeply, which is why it’s a tradition that we will always keep.

Another fun thing my family started and my husband and I have continued is an Easter egg coloring contest. We definitely get creative in my family adhering things to our eggs and using whatever means we can to win. You see, my dad judges the eggs and picks his top 3. Even though I haven’t been home in years for Easter with my family, we still email pictures of our eggs to be judged. It’s a tradition that we have a lot of fun with.

Okay, it’s your turn!
