Do you have any fun summer plans?

I’ll get us started …

This summer Steve and I will mostly likely be staying local. Having just bought our first home, our time, energy, and money are all being poured into getting it settled and just the way we want it. Having waited nearly six years for our first home, we’re quite content with that being our summer plans. We do have a couple of small trips planned that aren’t far from home, and we have family members coming in to stay with us too, which will be so much fun! Honestly, I think it’s going to be the perfect summer for us!

Okay, it’s your turn!

Congratulations to our April Talking Tuesday winner … Kristen!!! We love hearing from you all, so keep joining us for your chance to win this month’s giveaway!

As summer draws to a close, what has been one of your favorite memories you made during it?

I’ll get us started …

This summer has been another incredible one in my life. Unlike any other summer though, this one brought with it one of those moments we will look back on forever as a turning point in our lives. It will forever be a summer to remember because it’s the one where we moved across the country from Southern California to North Carolina. It’s one of those pivotal choices that changes the course of your life, and that’s a thrilling reality because it was a decision we had awaited, hoped for, and prayed over for years. Since we’ve gotten here, I’ve relished all of the subtleties of an east coast summer that I’ve missed – fireflies, the smell of fresh cut grass, thunderstorms, warm sunshine, blue skies, and the sound of crickets. Steve and I have enjoyed exploring our new hometown and all its wonderful offerings including bike rides at the lake, food trucks, street festivals, local baseball games, and much more! This summer is one where I know that I will look back upon it as the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in Steve’s and my life.

Okay, it’s your turn!

What’s your favorite summer date night?

I’ll get us started …

As I’ve mentioned many times, summer is one of my favorite seasons. There’s just something about it that evokes excitement, motivation, and inspiration. It seems as if there’s a world of opportunity waiting at your doorstep to seize. Lots of fun plans to be had and great adventures to embark upon, and the best part is taking advantage of them with the love of my life. One of my favorite summer date nights is a concert at an outdoor amphitheater. Nothing says summer love like a great band in the great outdoors. Another favorite summer date night for me is a campfire and S’mores. It’s cozy, romantic, and cheap! What’s not to love? Summer really is such a perfect season to enjoy with your sweetheart, don’t you think?

Okay, it’s your turn!

What do you and your spouse (or significant other), family, loved ones, and/or friends have planned for July 4th this year?

I’ll get us started …

Since my husband, Steve, and I just moved to Raleigh, NC, we’ve been trying to do some research to find out what our options are for 4th of July celebrations around here. It seems there’s no shortage of options, so it’s a matter of figuring out which sounds the most appealing to us. At the moment, we’re leaning toward heading to downtown Raleigh where there is a big celebration and fireworks show. Hopefully we can mingle with some people there and have a wonderful, fun, and memorable time celebrating our amazing country!

Okay, it’s your turn!

What do you love about summer?

I’ll get us started …

I love that, with the warm weather and longer days, there’s a natural pull to be more active. It seems summer brings out the adventurous side in a lot of people, myself included. Whether it’s hitting up the pool, shopping the farmer’s market, going for a bike ride, walk, or run, hosting a BBQ with friends, checking out a local festival, or jamming out to a concert, there seems to be so many more options out there to explore. That coupled with the desire to do something fun is a recipe for a memorable summer full of laughter and love. What’s not to love about summer?!

Okay, it’s your turn!

Do you and your spouse, family, and/or friends have any fun summer plans on the horizon?

I’ll get us started …

Steve and I are heading to Virginia this month for my sister’s college graduation, and we are super excited about it! It was a long-term goal for my sister to complete her degree, and she did it with flying colors. We are so proud of her, and it’s going to be absolutely incredible to have the whole family together to celebrate her accomplishment!

Other than that, we have a bit more of a subdued travel schedule this summer than normal, but I am sure we will do plenty of fun, local things to make memories. We rarely sit still for very long, so I doubt this summer will be an exception to that rule. Summer is always a fun time, so I’m looking forward to what we can get into J

Okay, it’s your turn!

What’s been one of your favorite moments so far this summer with your loved ones?

I’ll get us started …

My husband, Steve, and I have had a jam-packed summer. From the word go, we’ve been traveling, entertaining, rendezvousing, and generally running around like chickens with our heads cut off. It’s been a blast though, and we feel like we’ve made the most of every moment, as we usually do.

Some of my favorite moments this summer were getting to spend time with family. My oldest sister, her husband, their little girl, my mom, and my dad all came out for a visit the beginning of June for some incredibly special and blessed time together. Then I got to head home to Pennsylvania in mid-July to visit with my family, which is always a welcomed trip (There’s no place like home!). Other than that, celebrating my husband’s and then my birthday made for some super fun and much needed alone time with my sweetheart! The fair, quality time with friends, summer concerts on the lawn, and food truck meet-ups are all little adventures we’ve taken advantage of. Plus, there’s still more to come! Honestly, I love summer with its sunshine, long days, and fun to be had!

Okay, it’s your turn!

What was your favorite part of this summer?

What are you looking forward to heading into fall?

I’ll get us started …

It’s always tough for me to narrow down what my favorite part of anything is because I usually love it all. But, since I asked the question, I suppose I should force myself to answer. My favorite part of this summer was my husband, Steve, and I going to several new places together for the first time. We recently came up with a list of places/things (local and not local) we wanted to make sure to see, and we started checking off several of those places this summer. It was so nice to feel like we were actually doing what we set out to do while making some incredible memories along the way.

Moving into fall there are two things I am most looking forward to – my sister’s wedding and football! My sister is the last of the three of us girls to get married, and I am so excited to be a part of her transition into marriage, which is something I believe in so much. As her matron of honor, I get to share this incredibly special journey with her up close and personal, and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Plus, she is getting married back in Pennsylvania where it is the most incredible time of year with the leaves changing and the crisp autumn air; I can picture and smell it already. And there’s no place like home near Penn State to kick off college football season. I’m giddy just thinking about it. We are … Penn State!

You’re turn!
