Talking Tuesday

Now that summer is pretty much wrapped up, what are you most looking forward to this fall?

I’ll get us started …

My hubs and I are celebrating our four year anniversary this September, and we decided to celebrate it with one of our dream vacations to Italy and Greece! We’ve had it on the books for over a year now, and we’ve been talking about it for much, much longer than that, so we are thrilled that it’s just around the corner. We will be exploring all over Italy, Greece (including the Greek Isles), and even a city in Croatia. In our time together, we’ve done and gone to some pretty amazing places, but this trip is a dream coming true, so to say we’re elated is an understatement.

Okay, it’s your turn!

We are looking forward to a few things… first in two weeks my husband will be walking my niece down the aisle and giving her away. This wedding is long in the making, they have been dating 10 years. Second in the first week of October, we have a team made up of family, friends and a college basketball time and we are entered in our very first NAMI Walk. My husband always looks forward to fall because he is a hunter and is able to get out into Wisconsin’s northwoods to chase whitetail deer with his father and brothers and I look forward to having a peaceful quiet house. This is usually when I do some very intensive cleaning. One of my joys is watching the grandchildren rake up the leaves then play in the piles we will do it over and over… cannot wait for that.

Vicki, thanks for joining the conversation! What an honor your husband has to walk your niece down the aisle! One of my favorite parts of weddings is how it brings so many loved ones together. Sounds like you guys have quite a few things going on this fall to look forward to. Have fun enjoying them all!

I love our Florida fall weather. It gives our family time to go outside and enjoy each other. Long walks together at our park is one of my favorite parts of fall.

    • Ashley McIlwain Says:

Fiona, fall in Florida is definitely a nice time weather wise. As it cools down, there are a lot more outdoor activities like long walks at the park :) It sounds so idyllic, I think I might go out for one! Thanks for sharing!

I am looking forward to celebrating my 1 year anniversary with my husband. I think we are going to take a trip down memory lane in Florida and hit some of our favorite spots.

  • Tanya Says:

What I’m most looking forward to this fall is my fiance coming home from Afghanistan and us getting married on 10.11.12. It will be such an exciting day, yet bittersweet as I lost my grandfather this past week. After the wedding we are going on a 7 day cruise to the Bahamas, St Thomas & St Maarten. He will only be home for three weeks before he has to go back to AFG, but those three weeks mean the world to me!
Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the candles, the decorating, time with family, SEC football, pumpkin patch visits… what’s not to love about fall?!

    • Ashley McIlwain Says:

Tanya, thanks for joining the conversation! Wow, what an exciting time for you and your fiance! I can only imagine what it will be like to have him home, get married, and get to spend that time together for your honeymoon (which sounds amazing by the way :) )! I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandfather though! Losing loved ones is never easy, and I know that you will miss him on that special day. My prayer though is that your wedding day is the most blessed kickoff to an incredible, lifelong marriage!

And I’m with you, fall is my favorite time of year too! Truly, what’s not to love about fall?!

  • Meredith Says:

This fall we plan to celebrate our recent marriage (just got married this past weekend)! We will also start our countdown to our Honeymoon that comes in December! We will travel back and forth to PA several times for PSU football games ; )

  • Heather Says:

I look forward this fall to celebrating my first wedding anniversary. In addition to a weekend away unplugged from technology, I also look forward this fall to painting pumpkins with my husband & two sons.

    • Ashley McIlwain Says:

Heather, thanks for joining the conversation! Your first wedding anniversary … congratulations! What an exciting time for you guys! And yes, it’s so nice to get away and unplug every once and a while together! Enjoy!

  • Lauren Says:

We celebrate so much in the next few months! Our anniversary is in December (5years), birthdays, holidays, fall festivals, on and on!! We also get to decorate a yard this year for the first time! My husband is looking forward to hanging lights. Really we love this ENTIRE season! :) And this season also reminds us of when we fell in love. :)
