What is one of your favorite physical features of your spouse or significant other? Why?

I’ll get us started …

As most of you will feel too (hopefully), there are so many things I love about my husband! I think he is the most handsome man ever, so it’s tough to pick just one favorite physical feature of his. That being said, I would have to say his eyes. He has beautiful blue eyes, but my favorite thing about them is how tender and gentle they are. When I look into his eyes, I just feel at ease and comforted. Like I’ve arrived home. It is said that the eyes are the window to the soul, and my husband definitely has a comforting, tender soul that is gentle and kind. Those beautiful blue eyes are definitely one of my favorite physical features of his!

Okay, it’s your turn!

What are you most looking forward to in 2014?

I’ll get us started …

First of all, Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful 2013, and may 2014 be filled with much love, laughter, and blessings for you!

Now, let’s see. What am I most looking forward to in 2014? Well, to be honest, our year is already off and running full speed ahead, and I have a feeling it’s not going to slow down anytime soon. There’s a lot that we are planning for, praying over, and anticipating for this New Year. Perhaps the biggest for me is getting licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist here in North Carolina. Much like an attorney, each state has their own requirements to get licensed as a marriage and family therapist in their state, so I am working on that process. It’s a bit overwhelming to be honest, but I’m excited to start seeing clients again because I love working directly with couples and individuals! Perhaps the other thing is potentially getting a home. Steve and I have been married for nearly 5 ½ years, and we have patiently waited to buy a home until our circumstances, finances, and location all came together. Finally it seems we are at that point, so we are praying for God’s guidance in getting the right home for us to settle into and call our own!

Okay, it’s your turn!

What are your favorite Christmas traditions?

I’ll get us started …

It’s always tough just picking one because this time of year is rich with traditions and memories attached to those traditions. Plus there’s the fact that there are traditions from growing up with each of our families as well as my husband’s and my own traditions. I think I’ll choose a tradition Steve and I have created together.

Since we are the ones traveling each year to see our families, we never get to be at our home for Christmas. Because we’re usually in the air or on the road, we decided not to tote our Christmas gifts for each other along for the ride. Instead, we started doing our own Christmas night before we take off each year. We make dinner, sip on cups of hot cider and cocoa, get our Christmas jammies on, and open up gifts side by side. It’s a sweet little night that we look forward to each year. Hopefully at some point we’ll get to enjoy Christmas in our own home, but for now, we enjoy this pre-Christmas night together.

Okay, it’s your turn!
